SWIETELSKY is carrying out nationwide track tamping works for Banedanmark under a framework agreement covering both the S‑train network and the mainline railway network across Denmark. The contract plays a key role in the ongoing maintenance of the Danish rail infrastructure, supporting reliable operation, passenger comfort and traffic safety throughout the network.
The works comprise mechanised track tamping, including the required ballast profiling on open lines and at stations. Track tamping is performed both as part of planned maintenance activities and in connection with identified defects or following smaller maintenance works, such as sleeper replacement.
Under the framework agreement, SWIETELSKY also carries out Class 4 fault corrections with defined rectification deadlines, as well as one‑year follow‑up tamping.
In addition, the scope includes a nationwide standby arrangement, ensuring rapid response and efficient adjustment in the event of acute or unforeseen track geometry issues.
With modern tamping machines, specialised equipment and experienced teams, SWIETELSKY delivers high‑precision work under varying operational conditions and with strict requirements for coordination, safety and quality. The contract underlines SWIETELSKY’s role as a key partner in the maintenance of Denmark’s rail infrastructure and demonstrates the company’s capacity to deliver complex, large‑scale maintenance services efficiently, safely and nationwide.
